The life lessons and relevant connections in chapter ten through fourteen are numerous and plenty. There were several life lessons throughout the chapters, but the one that stood out the most was this; before you make a drastic decision, think about it logically first. Many problems could have been avoided if Chris had just thought about what he was about to do and that it was not a good idea, no matter how appealing it sounds. He then would have never gone on that road trip to the desert with his car in a previous chapter, but it ultimately led to his wandering around and not even caring for his own safety. If he had maybe talked to his sister or one of his friends before he left, they might have been able to talk him out of it. If someone had opened his eyes of to how dangerous this was, then he would have thought rationally about it and aborted, saving his life. The biggest connection is if someone is hating their parents and just wants to get away, just take a vacation instead of running off.
